rain, rain, i'm going away

I've been gone. Traveling and working in Asia and vacationing and visiting family in Romania. Now that I'm back under the rain I've realized I am ready for my next step. It's been a long time coming (6 years exactly) but I am finally ready to share in the traffic with Mr. I'll-be-back himself. Wish me luck as I start planning the move.

who needs a therapist when you have hot yoga

I crave chocolate not the heartache. I crave a really yummy martini but certainly not the hangover. And just like that I crave a fit body and not the workout to get it. But not anymore my friends! Just like food is therapy for my heart, hot yoga has become THE therapy I need for my mind and body. Cheesy I know, but I am addicted to hot yoga. Oh yes, HOT yoga. Regular yoga just doesn't cut it, the intensity isn't the same without the sauna. Hot yoga is the new big deal, you work out for an hour and half, sweat three pounds of water, and it feels like the most intense workout session of your life! L-O-V-E it! One week down, a lifetime to go... ;)

the good: mind, body, and soul unit to form one nice tight ass
the bad: if you take a class with a fanatic instructor... I pity u. I actually cried after I had that experience and had a 24hr headache. But really, it was the best workout of my life. Know your level before you go! :)
the cringeworthy opps: DO NOT forget the speed stick

makes you think

I was in NYC when I stepped into THINK COFFEE. I asked the Barista for a tall drip. He answered back asking "A what?" Politely I repeat myself only to get an even louder and more annoyed version of his original question. This leads me to yell and carefully mouth, "I said, A T-A-L-L D-R-I-P." Rolling his eyes, the annoyed Barista realizes there's a line behind me and only then does he ask,"What SIZE is 'tall'?" Finally I get it and thoughtfully yet with a hint of irritation i reply, "A 12oz drip." Thankfully the java was great.

Very clever.

the good: think coffee's coffee and starbuck's branding
the bad: ny's know-it-all attitude
the cringeworthy opps: i probably should have caught on a lot sooner...

david's got the chocolate goodness

Craig David. He's sexy, has got a voice to make you swoon, moves that would make you're mom blush, oh... and have I mentioned a new album! The first release of "Trust Me" is a track called "Let's Dance (hot stuff)" and there are various remixes out there that will get anyone doing the Diaz Charlie's Angels dance!

Now, speaking of "Hammer Time" check out the the Hott Stuff clip:

Here's the original for a good ol' history lesson:

the good: recycling music can be a good thing.
the bad: the album isn't currently released in the US (only the UK)
the cringworthy opps: maybe some of that 80's fashion is better off left unrecycled.

work

in between finding moving music, sorting laundry, organizing "girl nights" and trying to figure out what to do with my life, I also work. out of the many things i consider my work, i currently enjoy getting up at 5am to film my internet show most. there are new episodes up every monday (technically every sunday night for me because they are up as of 12am eastern time). if you have a minute or two please go check them out:

thanks.

the good: this is something i really enjoy doing. AND i have "people" to do my make-up, hair, and wardrobe. oooohhh, and my character development! :) woo-hoo...

the bad: i don't get to do it more often

the cringeworthy "opps": i need some classes to improve my performances, sometimes they aren't too fun for me to watch.

lovestain

this season's "must have"

Christmas has come and went, and last Tuesday I finally finished up with all of my gift exchanges. Sitting at a table over a very dry dry bottle of cab, I was opening up my last gift... my closest lady friends surrounding me... were quite curious about what I had gotten, especially when they saw sheer astonishment come across my face the instant I knew what I had received. I just couldn’t understand what it was about me that gave all my dear friends and family the idea that I needed a robe. Yes, I received a robe. It was a really wonderful white robe that felt as if i were wearing thousands of cotton balls. However, this was my FIFTH robe of the holiday season. It was a beautiful robe, but all five of them were… well... four ;) but suddenly I felt like the universe was having a little fun at my expense. What was it about me that apparently screamed "i need a robe" so loud that at least five people heard it, went to the store, and bought it. Seriously, it got me a little worried. What type of person does one have to be to get a robe… five robes.  I just don’t get it. Gift receipt please!

My favorite robe I received was from sweet husband. Mine is in red.

The Good: I have a robe for every occasion. AND I have really great friends and family that like to buy me presents!!!
The Bad: I really don’t have enough room on my bathroom door for all five robes... hence, i've taken some back. AND I'm starting to think that I'm hard to shop for....
The Cringeworthy opps: I like walking around the house naked.

mickey mouse and me

With the new year now creeping into full force I’ve been catching myself feeling anxious about all those things I aspire to do, yet, fear I will never get to (yes, I am already procrastinating... in the future). Funny, I know. But really, I believe that finishing my “resolutions” list should be the priority before thinking of how I can truthfully put a check next to each number on that list... or when. However, like every new year I am feeling very optimistic of those surprises about to unfold, even the not-so-pleasant ones (they make life a lot tastier). This year though I feel assured my list will contain more checks rather then blanks ;) because I believe in progression, and last year's list was pretty much completed. That second home in the french riviera will have to wait for next year. ;) Seriously though, I am pretty pleased with last year's list, so I'm stepping it up this year. I'm not worried thought, it’s MY year now. 2008 is the year of the mouse! I take that as my extra set of wings (or tails) since it only comes around every 12 years!

So if you were born in ’84 or any increments of 12 away from… then it’s your year too darling and it’s time to celebrate and get that list taken care of!

The low down on the Chinese Zodiac can be found on wikipedia.com

But here's the general idea about Mickey:

MICE: You are imaginative, charming, and truly generous to the person you love. However, you have a tendency to be quick-tempered and overly critical. You are also inclined to be somewhat of an opportunist. Born under this sign, you should be happy in sales or as a writer, critic, or publicist.

And get this quote that comes with my sign:

Good: "Charming, Witty, Gallant, Wise - Recognize Yourself ?

Bad: Stingy, Selfish, Cunning (must be somebody else) !"

Cringeworthy opps:
none… so far… but I have 350 days left ;)
