Mrs. Mia Wallas

Hi Everyone! So it's late at night but finally I can say that Pre-Halloween '07 pictures are up:

short film, cashback

While browsing a photographer's blog with whom I recently worked with I scrolled across this:

Now, being the curious girl I am, I went on youtube and watched the original short film. Long story short, the short film was really wonderful so it was given a budget to make into a full length film. It is now in my NetFlix cart waiting to be packed up and shipped to my house tomorrow. I think you should check it out, it looks wonderful. While you are checking things out, here's the photographer's site:

I guarantee it will make you happy.

the rules of a hunter..

...a bargain hunter. If you're looking for somebody to go bargain shopping with... count me in! I am THE bargain shopper. I LOVE a great deal. Who doesn’t? But there are a few things one must remember when using this method to shop:

1. This MUST not be your only method of shopping, only a way to accessorize your wardrobe.
2. Bring a friend whom you would trust to be honest with you in the fitting room.
3. Don’t buy something just because it’s cheap.
4. Make a list of things you are looking for and stick to it. *
5. Don’t go bargain shopping more than once a month.
6. Pick a store you ordinarily wouldn’t go to.
7. Don’t spend more than a half an hour in ANY store! Most of the time the extra time you are putting in is just not worth the savings.

*Unless, you find a hidden jewel. Hidden jewel example:

Prada Flats $100 @ Mario's (Last year, I found and baught a pair of Prada flats similar to these. I didn't need them but couldn't pass up the steal... I still wear them.)

That said, on my way back from the seeing my newborn niece in Canada today we stopped at the Premium Outlet malls in Tulalip. I was searching for this:

Marc by Marc Jacobs @ Barney’s $650.00 (very not worth it)

BUT

Instead of a cute, quality Nine West knock off all I found was different variations of this:

(NOT a great bargain no matter how cheap you find them)

So, I left quite disappoint but with my bargain spirit still in tact. I managed to convince myself that all the outlets were just clearing out their inventory for the really great finds right before Thanksgiving.

The Good: I didn’t spend any money on unnecessary deals that I would never in a lifetime wear but have to have because it’s SO cheap.

The Bad: No knock-off found.

The Cringeworthy Opps: We left early in the morning and caught a really long line at the border due to the morning US commuters. Plus, we made the mistake of letting a “lost” car cut us in line from the Nexus lane (WHO does that?). Hell hath no furry like the scorned drivers in the border control line!

all that glitters at H&M

This weekend I was at H&M in Vancouver where I found a wonderful buy. For approximately $40.00 (a fraction of the price of denim) I can now pair this season's longer tops with my new leggings. I have them in a black/charcoal shade but I highly recommend the gold if you can get your hands on them, unfortunately, they were sold out when I was there.

Also, for all you Seattleites, H&M is rumored to be opening a new location in the U-District in 2008. Just barely missing the launch of the new Cavalli line this fall. Look below for a preview:

The Bad Girl in Every Good Girl.

Every once in a while I will run into –and I mean head on- more trouble then I bargained for. However, any self-respecting bad girl would take this as a mere side street in that awfully windy path to getting what she wants. Therefore, I have decided that a new addition to the Guide is very much needed.

The Good

The Chloe D addendum to Nasty Girls:

When running into Unpleasantville and the Nasty Girl is the mayor who is running a very dirty campaign, play filthy with the truth. To do this you must:
1. Devise a plan based on the truth.
2. Take a day to think about it and discuss it with your oh-so-loyal supporters.
3. Begin to act truthfully.
4. Follow through to the end.
5. Sit back and enjoy your French 75 as you celebrate the throw down of Unpleasanville’s mayor.

The Bad

There is always a sequal.
And sequals… sequals are bad.

The Cringeworthy Opps

If not done correctly and with utmost class, things could get very messy. Remember to follow through and act with precision.

11:59 it's almost not Monday

Mondays have a heavy weight to bear. We use Mondays as start days. Mondays are the begining of the week (for most of us) and therefore it's when we most often plan to start everything. We tell ourselves that "Monday I will start going to the gym" and "Monday I will deposit the checks" and "Monday I will start my blog" and "Monday I will...." and so we overload Mondays with all those things we aspire to do. Yet, Monday still only holds 24 hours like any other day. This means that most of the time we are not going to get everything done on Monday and so it's no wonder nobody ever likes Mondays. I want Mondays to have a better rep, afterall Mondays are our coffine buzz for the week. So, from now on I will no longer use Monday as my start day. Mondays will be my warm-up day and Tuesdays will be my start day. This way, if I plan everything for Tuesday and do most of it on Monday it will feel really great to get things done early! Plus, nobody cares about Tuesday anyways. Now Tuesday will have a name for itself. Tuesday is the new start day.

This Monday's breakdown:

The Good: I actually started my blog. AND I found the perfect fall trench to let the rain fall on.

The Bad: It's 12:53am and I should be sleeping since I'll be up in less then 6 hours.

The Cringeworthy "Opps": Currently, my only idea for a Halloween costume involves plastic wrap.
